Bertrand Russell, upon being jailed for anti-war activities during WWI, answered the question concerning his religious affiliation with the term Agnostic. The jailer, upon reading Russell's response, commented to Russell that: "Ah Yes, we all worship Him in our own way, don't we." Russell reported that the comment kept him smiling through his first few days of incarceration.
